Hust Wedding!

Loved being apart of this gorgeous wedding that was held at the D'arbonne chapel! Congratulations you two on your beautiful life together!
I have been soooo slacking in my blogging! Between being oh so busy, holiday season, being sick off and on for a month now, and trying to catch up on my editing, the blog has been neglected!

For a little update: I will be having a MINI session on a Sunday in March, mini sessions are for a MAX of 3 people! email me if you are interested! There are only 2 spots left! Other then the mini session day, I am all booked up until June!!!! Yes I said it! :) I may have spots open up on weekdays and I will post those openings on my Facebook Fan Page and they will be first come first serve! Still contact me if you are wanting a newborn session, I may be able to squeeze you in on a weekday.
Please remember photography is my second job after being a nurse. I book in advance and must work around my nursing schedule. And Emailing me is the best way to get in touch with me since I work nights, which is why I don't post my phone number on my blog or fan page. If you do contact me by phone, please give me 2-3 days to return your call, and leave me a message! I don't return calls that don't leave a voicemail. For a faster response, just email me!
I love love love what my photography has become and love all of my new and old clients that I have grown with me along the way! I have so many weddings coming up and a fabulous styled shoot in January that I cannot wait to share. Me and my mom collaborated to produce what will hopefully be a fantastic shoot with one of my favorite couples, Tara and Drew (here is their old session with me: Tara and Drew!!! I cannot believe that was only about a year and a half ago!) My mom (Juanita Gooding) is now renting out her vintage finds for weddings, sessions, showers, whatever you can think of! They did it!!! I had such a great time at this wedding! The reception was so much fun and bride and groom were so laid back! The best advice I can give a couple is to relax and breathe, if a task hasn't been completed for the wedding by this time, forget it, more then likely no one will even notice! AND Do NOT be rushed on your big day, start hair and makeup, etc early so that you are on time and not stressing about it! Hope you two enjoy and lots of love!!!

HEY! These two were such troopers! It was so hot, which it has been in good old Louisiana, but it was rough for me and I didn't need to look pretty like these two. :) And if you ask me, you would never know how hot it truly was by looking at the photos. I have known Emily since probably Kindergarten, and when she asked me to do her wedding, I was ecstatic! Both Ryan and Emily also work at the same hospital as me and were a semester ahead of me in nursing school! They did great and I CANNOT wait for yall's wedding! And Emily's bridals!!! :)

YAY! Sarah and her girls were so much fun and just everyone involved with the wedding was great! Jeremy and Sarah decided to do the "first look"! This was a decision that I had a hard time deciding on for my own wedding, while I wanted all the photos of me and my husband, I didn't want to break that tradition. Not to mention I would have cried the entire time I am sure! Sarah started to with hers but quickly recovered, I probably would not have been so lucky! lol. It does give you that extra time to take photos with your man (granted everyone is on time, which can be really hard on the day of your wedding!). You can see their hot, beautiful, June wedding below and you gotta love the bird seeds for their exit! :) I hope you enjoy your photos and your endless life together! Much love!

Finding YOUR wedding photographer!

So I know I'm a little bias on this one but I honestly don't think every bride out there is right for me or me right for them. So how do you find the best wedding photographer for you?

Some pieces of advice:

1. Do you FEEL something when you view their work? You should emotionally connect with the images. You are hiring this person to capture one of the most emotional days of your life, they need to be able to capture that! You are hiring an artist with a specific eye (my eye may or may not be for you).

2. Are they competent? There are a bazillion photographers out there and not all of them have a pasion for what they do. (which also relates to being able to capture emotion, if your photographer isn't into it, it shows). Some "photographers" are just wanting to cash your check. Do they have good editing software and equipment? Are they off the manual setting on their camera (You would be surprised!).

3. Make sure you like your photographer as a person. They are going to be with you, your friends, and family for many hours on the best day of your life. You need to be able to trust your photographer and be able to relax in their presence. Find a photographer that makes things easier for you and fun. The statement that I love hearing most after a session is "We had so much fun!"

4. Style: DO YOU LIKE THEIR STYLE? Photographers have different aesthetics and that isn't going to change for your wedding. It is an extention of who they are and what they enjoy. For me personally I prefer a rusty car, green grass, and an old barn with a texture here and there. It is a great idea to send your photographer some photos that resonate with you and see if they can meet your expectations. CAN YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THEIR PHOTOS?

5. Price: I realize budget can be a constraint when choosing your photographer. For my own wedding, I sacrificed in other areas of my wedding day to get the photographer and package that I wanted. What is the point of all of this planning and all the details if you don't have someone, who is competent, there to capture it?!? SO you need to determine how important photos of you wedding day are to you? and whose hands do you want to put that job in?

I do plan on starting a selection process for choosing weddings. Because of the small amount I do per year, I truly feel that not only do I need to match what you want, But you need to match my style and what I can provide. :)

She is so precious! I have wanting to get alot more into newborns lately and here is the beginning! :) I will soon have a newborn studio in my own home. I am so excited to get it all set up and ready for babies! Me and my husband recently bought a house and we have cleaned, painted, sanded, stained, layed tiles, etc, etc.... TOTALLY updated and remodeled the house! It is still a work in progress but when it is done it will be so worth it! And the heat has come to LA, so I will be slowing down on my outdoor sessions, I only booked a few spots this summer! Booking for fall sessions soon! :)

HEY! I have been so behind on blogging!!! Here are just a few of my recent images, you can see more on my facebook fan page! Life has been so crazy and amazing lately! New job as an RN (starting nights tomorrow night!), wedding planning, showers, buying a house, photography, etc, etc.... not to mention I am loving every minute of it! I had such a great time with this wedding including the bachelorette party the night before! :)! This wedding took place at the tribute gold course in Texas. Brianna is a friend from nursing school and I was honored when she asked me to do her wedding photos! The weather and lighting was perfect for an outdoor wedding! I am done! Weddings take much more time obviously due to how much more time I spend with the bride and groom. This entire wedding was indoors. Sarah you just glowed all night long, absolutely gorgeous! And I even had fun at the reception! Everyone danced all night and most left barefoot! Just for all you future brides of mine, I will be looking into wedding albums and such after the crazy holiday season! I have had a few people ask so make sure to ask me again when that time comes! These two were so great we only did 30 minutes! Plus not to mention the heat, which is now, thankfully, starting to cool down. And look at me and my story boards! :)...

Again I am booked up for the year and the cancellation list is so long I cannot add anyone else. Not to mention I passed my nursing boards and now will be starting a job any time now!

I do want to say that if you are pregnant or plan on getting pregnant, please within the first month or two of finding out, let me know that you want photos and tell me your 7th month if you want pregnancy photos, and then when you would expect to do newborns, again if you want them. I do pregnancy photos about the beginning of eighth month but I like to get in touch with you about the seventh and see how you are coming along. If you are huge and uncomfortable then we will do you sooner! lol. The sooner I know, you are pretty much guaranteed to get your date of choice depending on my schedule of course. And I hate having to tell people I am booked and cannot photograph your newborn/pregnancy.

One way you can get a session with me this fall, and bypass the line: On my facebook fan page, if I get up to 700 fan there will be a contest! You can invite people with a tab underneath my profile picture. I will be giving away 1 or 2 mini sessions and you will vote for the winner! Which is even more of a reason to want your friends to be a fan! I will give you more details once we get to that 700 fans!

I am now working on designing some gift certificates!!! Will be a great Christmas gift! They are either $150 for a mini session or $250 for a full session, no in betweens. All the details of those packages are underneath investment under my logo. Gift Certificates must be used within a year of purchase.

Whew! What a week it has been! I photographed a great wedding on Saturday and I started ZUMBA! It is great, it is a total party! I will tell you what though, a wedding is hard work to photograph! There are always so many angles that you cannot get to in time and you can only be in one spot, it is so annoying! lol... I need three or four of me! And then my own wedding planning that honestly my mom has taken over, I basically just say yes or no, lol. I did find my dress!!! YAY! It is totally me!

Another great session with little miss Addison, I think the heat got to her towards the end tho I had to pull out the sucker to make her happy, lol. But I am booked up through the year!!! (I cannot decide if I am doing any sessions in December, they definitely would not be ready for Christmas cards or presents). These two were nothing but fun! I have had the honor of photographing these two three times total now and they are always fun and I love watching them grow! They are so full of life and they keep a smile glued to my face! Not to mention I LOVE me a tutu!

Tara!

This was not your ordinary bridal session. This was after Tara's wedding which was nice because she wasn't overly protective of her dress and we really got some amazing shots. I pretty much begged Tara to let me do her bridals after doing her engagements, lol. She did not hesitate thank goodness, I really wanted to do a more casual bridal session and she def gave me that! It was more about her, not the dress itself. Tara needed so little direction, she is a photographer's dream! You are just an amazing person inside and out. I love these photos Tara, thank you again!

He is a cutie! I love the photo above! I chased him around for hours until we got the perfect shots, and I think we really did. Bubbles always help too! lol.

This family is always so fabulous! They were with me way in the beginning and Scarlette is such a doll! I always expect to run around chasing when kids are this young, but she was so good! I was kinda in shock, lol. I cannot wait to photograph this family again, I always know it will be a great session! Thanks again!

I had so much fun with little miss Vitti, I love it when they will run around playing but still take time to look at me and smile for the camera occasionally. It definitely gives me a work out! I remember when I first started doing photos my legs would hurt for days, I do so many squats in one photo shoot! It was great to catch up with Sabrina too, it has been to long. Another fabulous couple! And I will also being doing their wedding in August!!! I am working my booty off today trying to catch up! Working on wedding now for those of you who want to see my wedding work! Thanks everyone! and thanks to Josh and Amaia, yall were awesome!

Meridith is actually my first wedding to book, even though her wedding isn't until November. She convinced me somehow to start on that journey of wedding photography, lol. I just love catching up with repeat clients, so good to see yall again. I am trying my best to catch up. I have to go to bed at this point, I am so sleepy. More to come!!! Yes, He proposed at the photo shoot!!! :) I love it! I said "Ok Kris, I'm ready" (with a huge grin on my face of course) and she said "What?" and he went down on his knee. HEHE! I was worried I would start crying and would miss the shots, but I held it back! Ashley has been my very best friend for years and I am so blessed that our friendship has lasted through the years! We were each others side kick for so long, we were mistaken for each other. I was there when this relationship started! :).... I was so giddy when he told me his plan that I could barely keep it to myself, of course I had to tell my significant other just to get it out! I am so glad that I could be apart of this special day and now you have the photos for when the memories start to fade. Love you both and cannot wait to be apart of your big day!
